GET FIT : Week One

Hey guys!
So as you may have seen on my previous blog post I'm taking part in a 14 in 4 fitness challenge.
My first week is done, I can't believe how quickly it has gone but heres how it went -

Monday - Day 1
I feel quite nervous about today. I've got everything laid out infront of me but it feels quite daunting what I'm about to take on. three meals & two snacks every day for the next 4 weeks. I don't think I've eaten that much food in a long time. I also went to my first workout class which was circuit training. I haven't worked out in about 8 years so this nearly killed me!!
Tuesday - Day 2
I do not feel good. The idea of food just makes me feel ill. I managed to stomach a berry smoothie (possibly the nicest thing ever) && some natural yoghurt. I've felt super lethargic & fatigued all day. I've done a full day at work too so all I've wanted to do is curl up in a ball. I think my body has gone into shock!

Wednesday - Day 3
Okay, I don't feel as hellish today && feel slightly better. I did however manage to eat some salad with tuna which I suppose is a walk in the right direct. I've also finally felt the pain from Monday night. My muscles are aching like hell - this is gonna get some getting used to I think. I'm seriously craving a cup of tea & junk food today but I'm gonna stick to this as much as I can!

Thursday - Day 4
I am back to my normal self so I made sure I done all my food preparations for today. For my lunch I had shredded chicken fajitas wrapped in Romanian lettuce leaves. If you put that infront me a month ago, I would have said it was horrible and probably wouldn't have touched it. One of my snacks - rice cakes with peanut butter, is possibly one of the tasiest things ever!
Friday - Day 5
My god I feel good today. I am back to my normal self so I made sure I done all my food preparations for today. Now I do not like mince. I don't care what kind of mince it is. So when I saw turkey mince on the menu - I was not a happy bunny. I'm not gonna lie - it aint that bad, I actually quite enjoyed it. I also trained tonight - boxing. I am such a girl, I can't throw a punch to save my life. It was probably one of the most mentally && physically challenging things I've done in a long time. I was partnered up with Claire && she was such good encouragement for me
(FYI if you've annoyed me in the past 6 months your face was on the punching mitt)

Saturday - Day 6
I am definitely feeling the after mass of boxing yesterday. I had poached egg with avocado for breakfast, which for me is something I would usually eat so I was happy to see it here! I then had a salmon & broccoli for lunch. I never thought I'd be one of those people who has plain fish & plain veg for their lunch but I actually really enjoyed it. Saturday night is usually takeaway night in our household, so I found it a little hard cause all I want is a Chinese takeout.

Sunday - Day 7
I thought I was in pain yesterday, my forearms are in agony. But it's one of those weird pains where you know you've moved muscles that I havent moved for a while. Once I finished work I went home to a Sunday dinner. I thought it would have been hard not having Yorkshire puddings or stuffing on my Sunday lunch but I just had chicken, vegetables and some sweet potato (to convince myself it was mash) and honestly it was lush.

Week One Weigh In
So week one is completely done. I've had my weigh in and I'm an incredible 8lbs down this week. I honestly didn't think I had lost anything at all. When I look at what I've actually done this week, how hard I've struggled on some days I'm absolutely buzzing with myself.
I'm definitely looking forward to the next results, it's definitely made me more optimistic.

  2. Bloody love peanut butter on rice crackers!! Good fats! Well done on the 8lb girl, the food becomes habit. I struggle initially with my diet when I start training too but they say it's 90 days to make a habit & 90 to break it. Keep going xxx
