Cheese Scone / Recipe

Nothing quite beats a warm cheese scone with some good salted butter on. crispy cheese on the outside and super soft and fluffy on the inside. I know I've now made you hungry but you can make these beauties in around 15 minutes. They're so easy to make, very few ingredients and I promise anyone who tries these will absolutely love them!

What you'll need:
225g Self Raising Flour
½ tsp Salt
55g Butter
½ tsp English Mustard
25g Cheddar, grated
150ml Milk, extra for glazing

Recipe:
1// Preheat oven on 200c/Gas mark 6. Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper.
2// Mix the flour and salt in a bowl. Add butter and rub into flour with your fingers until resembles breadcrumbs.
3// Stir in cheese, mustard and add milk. Mix until you get a soft dough.
4// Split the mix into 8 even sized balls of dough & place on a baking tray.
5// lightly wash with milk, sprinkle a little extra cheese and bake for 12/15 minutes or until risen and golden.
The mustard gives it such an incredible flavour, if you're a fan of mustard you can always add a little more, it just makes them so more-ish. Honestly these are so easy to whip up & they're great to offer if you've got guests over. Or if you just fancy a light snack in the afternoon they're perfect!!
