North East Bloggers Picnic

So a couple of weeks ago i went along to the bloggers picnic over in Saltwell Park in Gateshead. 

This event was for bloggers && their families/dogs to get together, catch up && finally put some names to faces. It's also a great way to network with other bloggers that you may not have came across before. There was also face painters/bouncy castle for the children. 

Sam, who organised the event is also running a competition to win tickets for Disney on Ice.

That day also happened to fall on Kayleigh's birthday so we knew we had to make it extra special. Me and Ruth decided to go a little overboard - we had about 29 phone conversations a day about colour scheme. As a blogger these things seem to matter more than they probably should. We also made lots of nibbles including dips & crudites, sandwiches, cakes && fruit kebabs.

Of course with it being Kay's birthday, no birthday is complete without a birthday cake. Saying that we tried to defy the wind by lighting sparklers & candles; safe to say we failed miserably. 

We chatted for hours catching up on life, got some insta shots && popped open a bottle prosecco ready to just chilled in the afternoon sun. I don't think I could have spent the day with two better ladies. 

 

 

What's your favourite thing about picnics? Mine was definitely laying in the sun with my two favourites.
