Lola Jeans | Summer Menu Launch
Hola!
I hope you're all having an amazing Saturday.
So last week i got invited along to Lola Jeans in Newcastle City Centre to try their new menu
Of course i went along with my blogging partner in crime 'The Original Redhead'.
We headed along to Lola's which is situated on Market Street. There we we're greeted with the menu for the evening && a cocktail called Lady Eleanor, which is made up of pink lady apples, cinnamon, raspberries & prosecco.
The atmosphere once inside was electric with loads of other bloggers. It was a great start to the evening to chill out with my bestie and catch up.
Before the started with the menu they brought us round some calamari which was soaked in butter, fried and served with garlic dip. I've only ever tried calamari a handful of times but it was actually amazing.

The first sample they brought out was Lolas Surf & Turf. I love steak & i love seafood so this was the perfect way to start the evening. It was a prime bistro rump steak grilled medium just the way i love it and a huge king prawn. Honestly, we had two lots of this it was so good.
Next up was Chicken Parmigiana. This was panko & parmesan breaded chicken breast with napoli sauce, crispy rocket & mozzarella. This tasted as good as it sounds. I think what made it better is that all of the ingredients we're locally sourced, so it was proper northern home food.
After that we were served with a Palate Cleanser. The drink itself was called 'Endless Summer' which really reminded me of a warm British summers day. It was packed with beefeater gin, mint, lime, apple & rhubarb.
Bringing on the next taster, the Baja Fish Tacos. Yeah i know, sounds amazing right? Made up of tempura cod fillets in a soft tortilla, fresh homemade salsa, crispy iceberg lettuce and baja sauce. I feel like this is something you would snack on around a bbq in Mexico.
This next taster i got a little too excited about. It's called James P Sullivan. If you've ever seen Monsters Inc this is Sully. This taster was two beef patties, mature cheddar, prime rump steak, shoestring onions, steak sauce, tennessee bbq sauce, red onion jam & pickled onion monster munch all in a bun. It's insane how much then packed in this burger.
After all that meat i was feeling stuffed. They then brought us out something called China Rose Petal. This is one of their in-house favourites which was served in a vintage tea cup which was super cute. It has brugal write rum, Kwai Fei liqueur, pomegranate, pineapple, lime, rose syrup and topped with rose petals. For me this was too fragrant but Kayleigh definitely enjoyed this.
Finally they brought out a little finisher. They served us Hot Fudge Cake Spring Rolls. These were spring rolls filled with a gooey chocolate fudge cake served with a raspberry dipping sauce. Not going to lie, i burnt my mouth biting into this. It was super sweet, you definitely couldn't eat more than one of these after all that food.
And that's all the menu! They're also launching a 'clean menu' so if you wanna skip a few calories or just fancy a lighter option you can.
I was bursting by the time we left but it was a perfect evening, the staff we're amazing and i'd definitely be going back for the food.
