Top 10 Movies To Watch This Valentine's
Helllooooooo :)
So it's came back around to that time of year again, Valentines.
I'm not a lover or hater of this day but i know people either look forward to it, or dread it every year.
If you're single, i get it it kind or sucks, if you're in a relationship - make sure you get some flowers!
Either way love, romance && all things like that are kind of rammed down your throat. I'm not the most like emotional person in the world, but its the perfect excuse to get cosy, eat loads of junk food && watch cheesy movies that make you cry.
On that note here is my top 10 favourite romantic movies to watch this weekend.

P.S. I Love You
Firstly, Gerard Butler. Who doesn't love a film with Gerard Butler in?! This gem came out back is 2007 && it's definitely a tear jerker.
Plot: Gerry (G Butler) dies of an illness, he leaves letters to his wife Holly to help her cope. On her 30th birthday she receives her first letter from him, encouraging her to move forward. It shows you the grieving process of losing someone you love, but it also shows you all the wonderful things that happen when you love someone.
Favourite quote: if you can promise me anything, promise me that whenever you're sad, or unsure, or you lose complete faith, that you'll try to see yourself through my eyes.

Letters to Juliet
Amanda Seyfried is one of my all time favourite actresses, so it was a pretty easy decision to pick a film with her in it. This movie came out in 2010 && it never gets old to watch.
Plot: Sophie (Amanda) is on vacation in Italy && finds an unanswered 'letter to Juliet' in Verona's courtyard. So she goes on a quest to find the lovers in the letter. It shows that you never really fall out of love.
Favourite quote: 'what' and 'if' are two words as non-threatening as words can be. But put them together side-by-side and they have the power to haunt you for the rest of your life: What if? What if? What if?

Dirty Dancing
If you haven't seen this. Find a dvd or the internet && watch this! in 1987 Patrick Swayze graced our lives with this movie.
plot: Baby goes on summer vacation with her family, where she meets && becomes infatuated with Johnny the dance teacher. Her privileged family do not approve of her associating with him. Baby begins to dance with him && their relationship grow.
Favourite quote: Me? I'm scared of everything. I'm scared of what I saw, I'm scared of what I did, of who I am, and most of all I'm scared of walking out this room and never feeling the rest of my whole life the way I feel when I'm with you.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower
I genuinely think this is one of the best movies ever made. I read the book first then fell in love with the movie adaptation. In 2012 Emma Watson returned to the screens in this amazing film. This movie gives me chills everytime i see it && the music is amazing.
Plot: Charlie, an outsider dealing with the suicide of his best friend && his own mental illness is struggling to find a group of people that he belongs with. Queue Sam && Patrick who take him under their wing && welcome him to the real world.
Favourite quote: And in that moment, I swear we were infinite

Bridget Jones's Diary
A staggering 15 years ago this wonderfully hilarious film came out. Between the strong british accents, street fights && the brutal honesty of Bridget Jones, you can't not love this film.
Plot: Bridget is a normal woman with many imperfections who decides as a new years resolution to take control of her life, starting with keeping a diary where she tells the complete truth. Going along with her eccentric friends && choice of men, you can't help but fall in love along the way.
Favourite quote: I don't think you're an idiot at all. I mean, there are elements of the ridiculous about you. Your mother's pretty interesting. And you really are an appallingly bad public speaker. And, um, you tend to let whatever's in your head come out of your mouth without much consideration of the consequences. But the thing is, um, what I'm trying to say, very inarticulately, is that, um, in fact, perhaps despite appearances, I like you, very much. Just the way you are.

10 Things I Hate About You
Why can heath ledger be so perfect? Like really???? This is an adaptation of William Shakespeare's 'The taming of the shrew'. You need a good looking badass thats really a good guy? then this is the film for you.
Plot: Cameron is getting shown around campus where he sees Bianca. Bianca is a young sophomore with a shrew sister Kat. They're not allowed to date, until their father changes the house rules: Bianca can date, as long as Kat has a date too. Cameron now has to find someone to date Kat. Bring out Patrick Verona, a bad-boy who they try to convince to go out with Kat. This movie i think everyone can reach out to of the dramas && love in high school
Favourite Quote: It's not everyday you find a girl who'll flash someone to get you out of detention

When Harry Met Sally
This is heart wrenchingly beautiful. An amazing 80's film (why are 80s movies the best?) where two friends are worried sex is going to get in the way. It's stupidly relatable and you'll feel yourself laughing && crying along with the film.
Plot:Harry && Sally have known each other for years and it shows their lives as they both search for love, failing and finding themselves bumping into each other. They are then confronted with the problem of can a man and a woman be friends without sex getting in the way?
Favourite quote: I came here tonight because when your realise you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.

The Vow
You cannot watch this film without crying. It's impossible. If you didn't cry, you're not human. I think i may have cried through the entire of this film. It seriously gets you. Watch with caution.
Plot: Leo && Paige are a couple who just got married && are madly in love. After an accident, Paige is left unconscious but when she wakes she doesn't remember Leo. He now has to find ways to get his wife to fall back in love with him.
Favourite quote: I vow to fiercely love you in all your forms, now and forever. I promise to never forget that this is a once in a lifetime love. And to always know in the deepest part of my soul that no matter what challenges might carry us apart, we will always find our way back to each other.

The Notebook
Ryan Gosling & Rachel McAdams in one movie. We always knew it was gonna be awesome. The turmoil of their relationship during their teens i think it something we all go through. You will cry at the end of this. Just prewarning that now.
Plot: In a nursing home, a resident reads a romance story for an old woman who has senile dementia with memory loss. Allie comes from a wealthy background && Noah is working class. Despite their differences they fall in love. Allie && her family move away but she finds herself back with Noah. But their relationship can't be that simple.
Favourite quote: So it's not gonna be easy. It's gonna be really hard. We're gonna have to work at this every day, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, for ever, you and me, every day.

Love Me If You Dare (Jeux D'enfants)
I left this until last, this is my all time favourite movie. It is a french movie with english subs about two young kids that grow up && fall in love. I feel like everyone needs to experience this film at least once.
Plot: Julien && Sophie are two young kids that play a dare game. The older they get the bolder the dares get, regardless of harm to others & each other. Their lives drift apart but they find themselves always drawn back to one another.
Favourite quote: Tell me that you love me first because I'm afraid that if I tell you first, you'll think that i'm playing the game.

One of the few people that has seen Love me if you dare!!! thank you so much :)
DeleteI love romantic movies and romantic comedies! Three of the romantic movies I've seen from amongst the ones you listed above are " "The Notebook" (loved), "Dirty Dancing" (entertaining) and "Bridget Jones Diary", which I discovered via a trailer on the DVD of one of the another romantic movies I enjoyed: "Serendipity". I loved the song "When You Know" by Shawn Colvin in that movie. Other romantic movies I've loved included "Love Actually" (loved the Dido song "Here With Me" in scene 8) and Jenny's Wedding".
